About

Skyline & Streets is an independent guide to visiting New York City. It exists to answer the practical questions that come up while you are planning a trip, not to tell you how a place made someone feel.

What you will find here

Every guide on this site is built around planning problems. Which entrance to use. What a ticket actually costs, and what a suggested price really means. How long a visit takes. Which piece of advice circulating online stopped being true two years ago.

The site covers four areas: top attractions, parks and outdoor space, museums and culture, and where to eat.

How the research works

One rule shapes everything else here. A fact is published only if it can be found on an official source.

That means the operator’s own site first, then government sources such as the National Park Service or the city’s own departments. Other travel sites and ticket resellers are read closely, but they are read to find out what is missing or wrong. They are never used as a source for a fact.

If something cannot be verified on an official page, it does not appear here in a softer form. It is left out.

When two official sources disagree, both are cited and the disagreement is stated plainly. Choosing the more convenient number would hide something you need to know.

Why every price carries a date

Ticket prices, opening hours, and closures change. A guide that prints a price without saying when it was checked is asking you to trust a number that may be years old.

Every guide here shows the date its details were verified, in the byline and again in the sources box at the end. Details are re-checked before writing, again before publishing, and periodically after that.

Temporary closures are handled differently. Specific reopening dates go stale within days, so instead of printing one, these guides point you to the official closure list and explain how to read it.

What this site does not do

There are no paid placements. No attraction, museum, restaurant, or ticket seller pays to appear on this site, or to appear higher in it.

There is no invented experience. You will not read here that standing somewhere felt a certain way. You will read what something costs, how long it takes, and which route works.

Who writes it

Guides are published under the Skyline & Streets name rather than an individual byline. The site has been in development since 2022 and is run independently.
